![]() Another approach is to secure the cable very tightly with safety wire or zip ties to the frame backbone, up under the gas tank near where it turns down toward the carb. I've also seen a tiny hole drilled through a rib on the top of the carb cap, for the safety wire to go through. Use a bit of safety wire, and take a couple of tight wraps around the cable housing, up above the rubber boot.leaving the ends long enough to stretch down and secure below the carb cap. ![]() If you are worried about a random tug on the cable housing lifting the whole thing up and leaving you temporarily stuck, unable to throttle down all the way, there is a fix. Some don't even have the boot.No circlip or anything solid holding them in place. ![]() Some cables just sit in the little cup or brass adjuster on the carb top, held in place by the rubber boot. ![]()
